So, what do Reebok and hockey have in common? It may be the fact that Reebok International Ltd., the No. 2 U.S. maker of athletic shoes and apparel, said on Thursday it will buy Canada-based Hockey Co. Holdings Inc. for about $204 million plus $125 million in debt, in a move to expand into the hockey equipment market. This might be a pretty slick move considering Hockey Co. has a long-term licensing agreements to supply authentic jerseys to all 30 teams in the National Hockey League, the Canadian Hockey League, and the American Hockey League.

UConn Leaves No Doubts in Pulling Down Title

Last night UConn beat Georgia Tech 82 to 73. I was really hoping that Georgia Tech was going to pull it off, it sure would’ve been nice. I started pulling for Georgia Tech after Maryland’s loss to Syracuse way back in the 2nd round. I really wanted to see Maryland go all the way to the finals, but oh well.

Salute the Jackets

UConn women prove to be just too tough for Tennessee winning 70 to 61. UConn became just the fifth team in history to advance both teams into the Final Four in the same year. In addition, it also marked the first time in history that the same school won both the Division One men’s and women’s basketball titles in the same season.

So what was your favorite Super Bowl commercial? I have several favorites. The ‘the kids with the soap bars in their mouths’ by Chevy, ‘horse that farted’ by Budwiser, the ‘wanna-be Clydesdale donkey’ by Budwiser, ‘Jimmy Hendrix choice’ by Pepsi, the ‘children who download songs from the internet and still do’ by Pepsi and Apple iTunes, and the ‘job interview’ by Monster.

Super Bowl XXXVIII: Carolina Panthers vs. New England Patriots

So who’s watching the game for the commercials or for the game itself? Personally I’m a little of both. I’m not much of a NFL fan, but I would like to see the Panthers pull it off since they’re right up the road. Tonight the Carolina Panthers (14-5) will try to complete their turnaround from a 1-15 record in 2001 to Super Bowl XXXVIII champions against the New England Patriots (16-2). Two years ago, the Panthers ended the season with a 38-6 loss to the Patriots, their 15th consecutive defeat. Carolina will again conclude the year against New England, where they will have the unenviable task of stopping the Patriots 14-game winning streak. Kick-off is at 6:25 pm.

UPDATE: Patriots Win! Well the Panthers would’ve pulled it off if the Patriots wouldn’t have made that field goal at the end with 8 seconds left. That left the Panthers with 4 seconds to score, they would’ve had to run it all the way back for a touch down. Oh well, maybe next year!

NFC Championship

Not much of a NFL fan, but the Carolina Panthers (13-5) must defeat the Philadelphia Eagles (13-4) in the NFC Championship game today at 6:45 p.m. EST if they wish to continue their improbable season. Not sure if it’s going to happen, but I would like to see the Panthers pull it off just because. Lets go Panthers!

UPDATE: The Carolina Panthers defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 14-3 and are going to the Super Bowl!

Peach Bowl: Clemson vs. Tennessee

UPDATE: Clemson won 27 to 14. What a great game! Clemson led the whole game. Way to finsh the season Tigers!

Clemson announced Tuesday that it has accepted an invitation to play in the 36th Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl in the Georgia Dome at Atlanta, GA on January 2, 2004 at 4:30 PM. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN. The Tigers’ opponent in the game will be a team from the Southeastern Conference, which will be announced at a later date…. more>>>

Clemson vs. USC

Rival day, Clemson vs. USC. This should be a great whopping by Clemson. The game doesn’t start until 7:00pm (ESPN2), but in the mean time you need to check out You Can’t Spell “Suck” Without “USC. Let’s go Tigers!

UPDATE: Clemson won 63 to 17. What a waxing! Clemson had 21 unanswered points in the first quarter. Way to go Tigers!

Clemson vs. Duke

Yet another Clemson game. Today it’s Clemson vs. Duke. Lets hope that the Tigers can keep up the momentum of last weeks game and carry it through to defeat the Blue Devils.
