Sean & Katie’s Wedding

Today I was awoken by the sound of my cellphone vibrating for my wake up call from Jenn at 8:00 am since I didn’t have an alarm and probably would’ve turned it off anyways because I was so tired. Remember I didn’t go to be until 1:00 am the night before. So I got up and got Sean going as well. As we were getting ready Sean had a few phone calls to make to Royal Caribbean to verify that his mini birth certificate could be used rather than the full size one since he couldn’t find it. They said he could so it was all-good there. As side not for anyone wanting to go on a cruise, you have to be either married or someone 25 or older has to be in the cabin with you. Time sure was flying by as wee needed to leave by about 9:15 am so that we could get to Twigs for the pictures at 9:50 am. Needless to say by the time we got everything together and in the car heading to Twigs it was 9:35 am. We still got there a little early, we unloaded the Tahoe and then began with the pictures.
The photographer was really good, he had us doing everything from the formal pictures to the GQ pictures with our coats thrown over our shoulders, very neat if you ask me. The girls were running a little late as they had their hair appointments at 8:30 am and the hairdresser got there late. By the time they got there it was about 10:30 am and they still had to get dressed. Since the girls were running late they decided to just do their pictures after the ceremony. Once they had gotten dressed Sean sent Kevin in with Katie’s gift and he came back with his. Sean got Katie a set of earrings with 3 vertical stones, very pretty. Katie got Sean a very nice Seiko titanium kinetic watch, both Jenn and I had a hand in the selection of it.
Right after the gifts were exchanged it seemed like people were starting to get there. Denny, Garry, Kevin, and I all started to usher the guests to their seats. At 11:25 am, Sean, Josh, and the preacher had to go around to the side entrance of the garden. The ceremony began promptly at 11:30 am and the grand parents and parents were ushered to their seats followed by the groomsmen. Each groomsman went up and shook Sean’s hand and gave him a hug. Once all the groomsmen were in place the bridesmaids followed suite to their places. Once everyone was in place the bride to be, Katie, was ushered down the isle by her father Bob. Wow did she look pretty! As she was coming down the isle I looked over at Sean and saw him trying to hold back his tears of joy with his lip quivering and all. This just tore me up. By this time it was blazing hot for us guys dressed in black tuxes, full black vests, black tie, and white shirt. Now the girls on the other hand were quite comfortable in their light pink poke-a-dotted dresses. When Josh was asked for the ring he pulled out the box and opened it and it wasn’t there, then she started shuffling through his pockets and found it. This was a joke, which made everyone laugh. I wish I could’ve seen his face! Only later was someone saying now that would’ve been hilarious if there was a hole in that pocket. Josh pulls out the pocket and says there is! The ceremony didn’t seem like it lasted that long, maybe 30 minutes or so. The bride and groom walked briskly down the isle and out the side gate to go back around to the front of the garden. The groomsmen and bridesmaids walked slower down the isle. Once we had made it around the guests were able to go to the back of the garden to the topiary where the reception started.
While the reception was going on all the bridesmaids, groomsmen, parents, grandparents were getting their pictures taken with the bride and groom. I know there were a couple of pictures taken with us guys right in front of the fans that they had going, we were so HOT! Also there were pictures of couples taken so hopefully those will come out really well, Jenn and I need a great picture together. Once all the outside pictures were taken Sean & Katie went and cut the cake. Katie didn’t smash it all over Sean’s face, but he sure got her, hopefully that will turn out good. From there we went outside and the girls lined up for the bouquet toss, Jenn really wanted it but some little 9 year old got it instead. Then Sean took off Katie’s garter and tossed it and I was the one to catch it, apparently there was a good action shot of me too. And finally they did a fake run to the car through bubbles and all while the photographer snapped a few off and got some of them climbing into the car. Then most everyone got changed as almost all the guests were gone. By this time it was about 2:00 pm and Sean and Katie gathered up their stuff to get ready to leave and go to their hotel for the night. The caterer had fixed them a picnic basket of some of the food since they never got a chance to eat anything, nice touch if I might add. Just before they were to leave Sean told Denny that the furniture place had called and said the their chair was in and said it could be delivered anytime before 6:00 pm and asked if he could be there to have it delivered. Once everyone was gone Jenn and I stayed around and helped clean up and followed Cathy home to get Katie’s apartment key so we could go get cleaned up and gather our stuff.
Once we got back to the apartment Brad, Denny, Jenn, and I unloaded the gifts from the cars and put them in their spare bedroom. After they had left I had to get a shower and Jenn did a little cleaning so that Sean & Katie wouldn’t have to come back to mess with all the wedding stuff scattered around. Shortly after Brad and Denny had left the guys got there with Sean & Katie’s new chair which was good so that Denny or Cathy wouldn’t have to make a special trip back out there later in the week for the delivery. Once the chair was delivered Jenn got her shower and got ready to go, we locked up and left around 5:00 pm and dropped the key off at Cathy & Denny’s. While I was there I had to fix the TV as they were trying to get the video camera to play on the TV. That didn’t take long at all, but we still wound up staying and talking for a few minutes and left at 5:45 pm. We got to my parents house at 6:00 pm and got everyone ready to go to dinner, they were taking Jenn out for her birthday since it was several days earlier. So we went to dinner at Gourmet Pizza in Greenville and then went back home and did some laundry, repacked for our flight in the morning, and crashed. Our flight is at 6:00 am.
