Can you imagine the potiental of this phrase if he does get it trademarked? Have you seen the Verizon Wireless commercial? Now that is great! ‘Donald Trump is hardly the first boss to utter the dreaded words, “You’re fired!” But he just might be the first to realize the commercial potential of the expression. Now that Trump’s weekly ritual firings have helped turn NBC’s “The Apprentice” into one of the hottest shows on television, the billionaire developer has applied to trademark his favorite two-word phrase.’
And the saga continues! Apparently Jessie Conners, 22, from New Richmond, Wisconsin, who was fired in week six’s episode of “The Apprentice,” the reality show featuring several people competing to win a $250,000 job with real estate mogul Donald Trump’s organization has become the latest to try to register the catchphrase, “You’re fired” with the USPTO.
